2. Licensing the Encoder
After installing the full version of the ionCube Encoder it is necessary to obtain a license file with the following steps.
- Choose the License Request Generator option from the ionCube PHP Encoder item on the Windows Start Menu. A file called
licreq.txt will be created, and Explorer should open with the file selected in the licensing folder. You can also open the licensing folder at any time by selecting Browse License Folder from the PHP Encoder item of the Windows Start menu.
- Send the
licreq.txt file to licenses@ioncube.com for processing. Processing is often automatic and takes just a minute or two, but may take longer if the request could not be processed automatically; please be patient if you do not receive an instant response. After processing you will be emailed your license file to the email address registered on your ionCube member account.
- Install the
licdata.txt license file in the licensing folder. Use the Browse License Folder option to easily locate the folder. The Encoder GUI should now launch successfully, and if you have a problem at this point, please create a support ticket at http://support.ioncube.com
Transferring your license to a different machine
If you wish to transfer your license to a new machine, follow these simple steps.
- Select the Delete License option from the ionCube PHP Encoder item on the Windows Start Menu. This will create a file called
revoke_file.txt in the licensing folder.
- Send the
revoke_file.txt file to licenses@ioncube.com for processing. As with license requests, processing is often automatic, but may take longer if the request could not be processed automatically; please be patient if you do not receive an instant response. When the revoke file has been processed you can install and license on a different machine.
If you uninstalled and forgot to revoke...
Don't worry. The license revoke process also happens automatically if the software is uninstalled, and if the software was still licensed at that point, a revoke file should have been created. The Browse License Folder option will no longer be available, but you should find the revoke file in the folder <Public Documents>\ionCube\PHP Encoder. Send the file to licenses@ioncube.com as above. |
